Our Tarmac Services.

Tarmac, also known as asphalt or blacktop is widely favoured over other surfacing materials, its components are aggregates – for example gravel or crushed stone and bitumen, the latter being derived from crude oil. For use it is heated and blended to form a hot, workable material that is then spread and compacted onto a prepared surface. This surfacing material is often used for car parks, roads, driveways and airports.

Tarmac is favoured above other materials because it has certain advantages. It is known to be durable, can withstand heavy weather conditions and is suitable for heavy traffic loads. Another advantage is that it has excellent water resistance thus preventing water from seeping into underlying layers and causing damage. Tarmac is also easily repaired and resurfaced, extending its lifespan.

Tar & Chip Surfacing.

A cost effective surfacing material is Tar & chip, also referred as chip seal. This material is commonly used for roads, driveways and carparks. Its installation is completed by applying a layer of hot liquid tar (asphalt) onto a prepared surface and then immediately covering it with a layer of aggregate chips. The chips adhere to the stick tar which creates a rough texture and this provides a skid-resistant and durable surface.

What are the benefits of using this surfacing material? It is an affordable option when compared to other surfacing materials as it provides excellent traction and avoids water accumulation. Tar and chip requires minimal maintenance and is able to withstand heavy traffic.

Resin Driveways & Surfacing

There are a number of surfacing materials or techniques and Resin Bound is a popular choice for pathways, outdoor areas and driveways. It is a mix of high-quality resin with aggregates, for example stone or gravel. The resin acts as a binder which leaves a seamless and solid finish.  The result is a surface that is resilient and has visual appeal.

The advantages of Resin surfacing is that it is highly versatile. There are a range of colours and aggregate sizes so it can be customised to individual preference. It is low maintenance and easy to clean and it is slip resistant.

Resin surfacing is popular for both commercial and domestic use, and known for its aesthetic appeal, durability and low maintenance. Resin bound will provide an improved visual appeal but is also a practical choice.

Stunning Block Paving Solutions.

One of the most popular methods of surfacing is Block Paving. It can be used in both commercial and residential use for pathways, patios and driveways; it also offers versatility in that it can be designed to a personal preference. It is completed by arranging individual blocks or bricks, which can be made from either natural stone, clay or concrete. The unique finishes can vary as different colours, textures can be combined and created and adds visual appeal.

Block paving also has advantages in that it is extremely durable, and is capable of withstanding heavy loads. The interlocking nature of the blocks provides stability and prevents movement. Replacing the blocks is also easy if a block is damaged or needs replacing which means there is no disruption to the entire surface.
